Kingdom Kidz Ministry

In Matthew 19:14, Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." At Lexington Baptist Church, we take these words seriously. We work hard to provide a safe, nurturing and fun environment for kids to come to know Jesus now and continue to grow to serve Him. Jesus recognized the importance of childhood, and not just the future of each child. He knew the importance and value of the state of being a child. We desire to partner with parents in training children of all ages to have a real knowledge of God.

NURSERY (pictured left)

Our Kingdom Kidz Ministry begins in our well-equipped, loving nursery environment where your child is welcomed by Melanie Mathews and her sweet staff of volunteers.

"Miss Melanie" has been with LBC and working in the Nursery for many years. She is a mother of five and a grandmother.

We have age appropriate Sunday School classes for preschool thru 5th grade each Sunday at 9:45 AM. Kids then join their parents for worship in the Sanctuary at 11:00. During the service, the Children's minister presents a Kids Message.

JUNIOR CHURCH (pictured right)

Preschoolers - 3rd grade are dismissed from morning worship after the Children's message to attend Junior Church, for Bible lessons, songs, games, snacks, memory verses and crafts. On the third Sunday of each month, all children remain in the Sanctuary to worship with their families.

We invite children Kindergarten through Fifth Graders to participate in learning songs to sing during Worship services and when we visit the Quiet Oaks Nursing Home. Our Children’s Choir presents two musicals each year: a Christmas and Easter Musicals.  Pictured left is the Children's Choir 2018 Christmas Musical presentation.

Children in Action (CIA) is a mission-based program that runs throughout the school year. Wednesday supper is served in the Family Ministry Center from 5:00 - 5:45 PM.

CIA runs from 6:00 - 7:30 PM. each Wednesday evening.

Kids are grouped by age and grade for Bible study, games, snacks, and mission adventures. Kids can earn a special bag to display badges earned through mission activities, as well as points  for reciting memory verses, having good behavior, and attending club. The points are used to purchase items from a “store” set up at various times during the club year.

On Wednesday nights during the summer months, our Children’s Ministry hosts an hour long fun-filled learning time for children preschool to 5th grade. We are building young disciples through interactive stories and drama, and fun with crafts and games! We meet from 6:00 - 7:00 PM in the Children’s Ministry room.
